length of the screw means the length of the threaded area (not including the height of the head)
Directly under the hex head (on the thread shaft) about 1mm is not equipped with thread. That means, if you want to put this screw directly into M3 thread, please use a 1mm spacer (or if you put it into a topdeck, there will be no problems)
