The TAMIYA Lacquer Paints are synthetic resin paints of the highest quality and have been specially developed for use in model making. The models can be built particularly realistically with the coordinated color shades. The LP paints can be applied particularly well with a brush or airbrush and fine details come into their own. They can be applied directly, thinned or with a drying retarder.

An initially slow drying process smoothes the painted surface and ends with the paint drying quickly. This so-called drying retardation (also known as retarder) is reflected in a flawless finish. After the paint has dried/cured, the result is a very scratch-resistant and hard paint surface.

Beautiful, robust colors with superior gloss. A wide range of stunning shades of matt and glossy colors that are perfect for painting civilian or military models. If a speck or two of dust is trapped in the paint, this can be polished out with TAMIYA polishes (Polish Compounds).
Ideal for use with an airbrush. The Tamiya Lacquer Paints are perfect for applying paint with an airbrush.

The paint can be used undiluted or in a mixing ratio of 1:1 (paint : thinner) or up to 1:2 (paint : thinner) for a 2 - 3 coat finish. The thinner is available in two container sizes: 10 ml (LP-10, art. no.: 300082110) or as a 250 ml canister under art. no.: 300087077.

The paint retarder/drying retarder can be added separately for slow drying, this is available under art. no.: 300087198. A combination of both thinner and paint retarder is available premixed in a 250 ml canister (art. no.: 300087194).
The dried paint surface can also be "worked on" with acrylic or enamel paints.
