Products description

  • Sensored brushless speed controller (50A) for 2S operation (up to 8.4V)

Porsche Cup goes brushless!

The RCK brushless controller - called “Controller 1”. The new drive for the Porsche class of the RCK small series!

This controller is a relatively simple and straightforward controller. It fits the concept of the RCK small series - it is inexpensive and does not have an excessively high load capacity.

The controller has been used as a standard controller in the Porsche class since summer 2024.

Compared to the previous brushed drive, the new “machine” has less speed and more torque. With the engine change (summer 2024) from the Flat Six Brushed engine to the Flat Six Turbo, we have retained the reduction ratio.
With the same reduction ratio, the cars get out of corners better and reach approximately the same top speed.

The speed controller is delivered out of the box in such a way that you can use it straight away.
The plug connection to the motor is plug & play.
The plug connection to the battery is solved via a T-plug (and can be changed if you want to drive something else).
The settings of the controller are designed to perfectly match the Porsche Cup.
The basic setting (throttle / neutral / brake) is possible without a programming box.
The fine adjustment requires an (optionally available) programming box. This is NOT necessary for the Porsche Cup. NOTHING needs to be changed in the setup. None of the possible changes will make the drive faster!
Despite the sensorless design, the engine is finely controllable and also starts up IMMEDIATELY at the start and not after a second's thought.
The controller does not allow any power programs and is permanently in blinky mode in sensor mode (not relevant in the Porsche Cup)
The controller's BEC is also sufficiently dimensioned for more current-hungry servos (e.g. SRT CH6012).
The cable lengths are suitable for use in the TA-02SW, TA-03RS, TT-01E and also TT-02.

Technical data:
_ 50A continuous current
_ 2S LiPo operation
Brushless with and without sensor
6V/2A BEC
_ Blinky mode (in operation with sensor)

Why the switch from brushed to brushless motors?
The brushed motors were inexpensive and therefore a great solution for the Porsche Cup.
With the change to brushless, there is no need to run them in, re-oil each battery and regularly replace the motors.
The basic dispersion and also the differences due to different motor conditions are largely eliminated.
The end result is a more level playing field combined with less effort. This disadvantage of brushed motors is eliminated, especially for beginners who lack experience.
The purchase of the brushless combo is initially more expensive - however, it is sufficient to buy one motor. The motors run largely wear-free. In the long term, the brushless drive is easy on the wallet.

A rough timetable:
A) Availability of the new brushless combo in May 2024
B) Transition phase in which brushless & brushed is permitted until the Supercup at the end of July 2024 in Meckenheim. Nevertheless, we ask the fast guys in particular to set a good example and switch to brushless.
C) Tolerance phase in which the brushed drive is still tolerated for the kiddies and beginners - even if only the brushless motor is still in the regulations. We don't want to offend anyone and simply let the results on the track speak for themselves. The toleration phase ends with the World Championship in Augsburg in March 2025.

For all drivers of the Porsche Cup in the KleinSerie - what may be done to the controller, what may not be done to the controller and what should be done? Tips and tricks!
1. the controller is supplied pre-set by us. All controller settings are optimally designed to meet the requirements of the Porsche Cup.
2. if you have a different opinion, you can change these settings (using the optionally available programming box 240113). Nothing can be changed that would make the car faster.
3. the cables may be shortened. A different connector system to the battery may also be used. As the cable and the plug connection on the motor may not be changed, the 4.0mm sockets may be used for the connection to the motor.
4. a fan is absolutely not necessary in the Porsche Cup, but may of course be used (not included).
5. the coloring of the cables is purely intentional. We appeal to many newcomers with the Porsche Cup and make it easier to handle the technology here with unmistakable color coding.
6. the length of the cables is also purely intentional. We cover all legal cars with the cable length - from the TT-01E to the TA-03RS. Yes, even if you shorten the cables on the controller, the cables will still be too long for a perfectionist in the TT.
